In my last post on minerals, I mentioned that the number one reason women are tired is exactly that - minerals.
I'll be presenting on this and more at the High Energy Women summit, starting in just a few days. You can learn more here.
While I firmly believe mineral deficiencies are the number one reasno women are tired, I've got to admit something.
This is only half the story.
What's the other half?
Einstein's most famous equation, E=mc^2, describes the relationship of energy and matter.
What does this have to do with fatigue?
Fatigue isn't a matter of matter - it's a matter of matter AND energy.
Minerals are the "spark plugs" of life. This is often thrown out as proof of how important minerals are, but the full quote bears scrutiny.
"The trace elements are more important in nutrition than the minerals, in the sense that they cannot be synthesized by living matter, as is the case with the vitamins. Thus they are the basic spark plugs in the chemistry of life, on which the exchanges of energy in the combustion of foods, and the building of living tissue depend."
- Henry Schroeder, MD, PhD
Dr. Schroeder pioneered mineral biology. Note his use of the word, "energy," above.
Fatigue is the symptom of a lack of energy.
Minerals and trace elements facilitate the transformation of matter and the release of energy, and that's why I'll be talking about them at the High Energy Women summit. How that energy is used is of paramount importance.
So how do your cells take food, combust it with minerals, and transform that into usable energy for your cells and your body?
The answer is light, water, and magnetism. Minerals facilitate the combustion of food, but once that food is combusted, it is broken down into hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon. These substrates are then used to generate ATP, which gets the credit for being the currency of energy within the cell.
What else happens when you break down food?
You generate LIGHT. Light is the other side of Einstein's equation - the energy side. When your body breaks down food, it makes red and infrared light. That light structures water around your mitochondria, within your cells, and this structure is then used to do work.
This is why I wrote about sauna therapy in this blog post and infrared and red light therapy in this post.
Fatigue is a lack of proper water structuring caused by an inability of the body to combust foods and store the photonic energy stored therein within water bonding networks.
High-energy women don't just have adequate levels of minerals - they have proper exposures to LIGHT as well. Trying to harness the power of minerals without harnessing light is like trying to ride a bronco without a bridle or a bit.
Minerals are critical to energy generation, not only in the mitochondria, where iron and copper play vital roles in electron chain transport, but in the cytoplasm, where magnesium and potassium play critical roles in water bonding networks.
How could you wind up with fatigue, DESPITE adequate nutrition (mineral stores)?
I do see this from time to time in my clinic.
What do these cases have in common?
They live in dark places, they do not get adequate light, and they are stuck in stifling relationships with people who are suffocating them.
What's so important about these three puzzle pieces?
First, light is the trigger for wakefulness, melatonin generation, and the production of hormones and neurotransmitters of all kinds.
Second, even if you live in a dark place (like Canada), you can still get an abundance of light. This is why I wrote this blog post on sauna, this post on IR/red light therapy, and this post on getting enough UV light. I recommend all of these modalities to people in cold places!
Third, your body's energy can be snuffed out like a candle in the wind by the wrong people. Toxic people will suck the life out of you, quite literally, exhausting your body's stores of energy and leaving you fatigued.
How do they do this? The chronic abuse they subject you to activates your stress response, which causes minerals to be wasted in your kidneys, leading to accelerated losses of minerals from the entire body.
One of the secrets of my success? Helping people recognize their toxic relationships, so that they can recover in a healthy emotional environment.
What's the take-home from this blog post?
The word "diet" doesn't mean what you think it means. The word "diet" in Greek meant a way of living, particularly as prescribed by a doctor.
That doesn't just include what food you ingest. It includes the light you get on your skin and in your eye, when you go to bed, when you get up, how people treat you, and much, much more.
Minerals are just a part of this fabric of life. They are foundational, but we must never get so immersed in one element of life as to forget all the others. Down that road lies sickness.
To all you women who are reading this in search of relief from your fatigue - be sure to tune into my talk on minerals at the High Energy Women summit. I will be sharing more pearls from my practice there.
Until next time, be well,
Dr. Stillman
I love how you bring the components together in a way that's easy to understand! It is to my eyes as music is to my ears lol.
Fascinating stuff. Loved the insights into structured water and the role played by light.
