I warned in this blog post that AI is a serious threat to your health. I wrote about how to protect yourself in this blog post.
I wanted to see how well my readers could identify AI-generated content that was purposefully written to imitate me.
This is the real danger of AI - it can mimic us beyond what we imagine possible.
Seventy percent of my readers could not identify that the following post was generated by AI:
The prompt that generated the post was (basically), "You are Dr. Leland Stillman, author of Dying to Be Free. Write me a blog post about 5 things that people can do to protect themselves from the modern medical system."
Copy.ai went out and evaluated everything I had written and came up with that post. I changed nothing at all about the post.
Why did I create this test? I wrote a few months ago that I would not use AI to generate content - and I won't.
I wanted to prove a point. No matter how smart you are, you're not equipped to tell the difference between AI and a human author.
And that's just the reality of it. It's okay. Don't get upset. One of the greatest mistakes we can make in life is to deny reality when it doesn't sit well with us.
Albert Szent-Gyorgi once said, "Here we stand in this new world with our primitive brain, attuned to the simple cave life, with terrific forces at our disposal, which we are clever enough to release, but whose consequences we cannot comprehend."
Perhaps the greatest challenge we face in the modern world is the fact that our minds are wired to understand our OLD foes - starvation, dehydration, hypothermia, hyperthermia, and asphyxiation (drowning).
I told you that you are about to be inundated by content like you've never imagined possible. You're not going to be able to tell the difference between AI and real human-generated content. Even human content-creators are going to be using AI to speed up their content production process.
I won't rehash why the AI cannot possibly replace people like me. I think you understand that if you're still subscribed to this blog.
So what are we going to do about this?
I am going to post AI-generated content and de-construct it, so that you can see just how little value AI-generated content actually provides. I will do this as time allows, so you’ll get an idea of what to look for.
Some of you will probably be skeptical of this, but trust me, I think you're going to end up getting a lot of value out of it.
Until next time, be well,
Dr. Stillman
This is so wild!
