Please join me for a very special meeting
Help me build a better medical practice for you and people like you
Dear subscribers,
Recently, a friend told me something that was very disconcerting.
She told me that she sent a friend to my practice for an initial consult.
She then asked her if she had scheduled an appointment.
Her friend avoided her for a while, until finally my friend pressed her for an answer.
And the answer she gave truly upset me.
She said that she had felt very uncomfortable with how my staff answered the call.
I did some investigating and it seems to me that this is a more widespread problem than I had realized.
So in the interest of serving you all better, I’d like to invite you to do something that you’ve never done before, and that I’ve never done before.
I’d like you to participate in helping me to build a better on-boarding system at my medical practice, so that you can get great care, at a reasonable price, and, more importantly, great outcomes. And, also importantly, so that my practice can thrive so that we can continue to serve you and people like you far into the future.
This might sound a little odd or even crazy to you, but to be completely honest with you, I am tired of beating around the bush and trying to figure out how to structure my practice so that we can serve you best. It is not as simple as it sounds - those of you who own or run small businesses know exactly what I mean.
So if you’d like to help me sort it out, please join me for a very special webinar next week on Wednesday May 8th, at 5 PM Eastern Time.
The Problem with Modern Medicine - Revealed
During this webinar, we’ll be talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly of both conventional and functional medicine. We’ll talk about why care is so scarce, expensive, impractical, and why it fails so often, despite sometimes massive investments of time and money on the part of patients.
We’ll talk about why I’ve created what I hope will be a better system for you all.
Beyond the webinar, I’m asking for your help.
I am inviting you to give me your input on my new practice model.
This is a little scary for me… my mentors from the past would say that I’m crazy for doing this… but I have followed their advice carefully for long enough to have concluded that they were dead wrong about things they were completely sure of.
On Thursday May 9th, I would like to invite you to a Zoom call where you can give me your feedback on my new model, which I will be explaining in my webinar next week.
Here’s a Google calendar invitation if you want to add it to your calendar.
Here’s the Zoom link if you want to just go straight there from here.
Why am I doing this?
Because I think it’s the right thing to do.
Join me. It’ll be hilarious and sobering and engaging, all at the same time. You don’t want to miss this.
See you next week.
Until then, be well,
Dr. Stillman
I am in South Africa so the call may be past my bedtime! But I am not sure I can contribute anything anyway. I am racking my brain and for the life of me can't think of anything that has made me feel uncomfortable interacting with Stillman MD. And I am usually the outspoken one bemoaning the atrocious standards and lack of compassion in the medical industry in general. I am a veterinary clinician with 40 years experience so I know what it is that clients want. Affordability is a big one, but sadly there's usually not much one can do about that once one has removed the corporate monster- mouth that demands to be fed. I once saw an organogram of a large veterinary group (several 100 practices at that stage) for which I was working and was shocked. A whole A4 page was taken up with parasitic staff from the CEO down. Right down in a tiny section in the right hand corner were the vets, nurses and receptionists. But Dr. Stillman's practice is already lean and mean in that respect so I guess until governments start subsidising integrative care in a meaningful way ( and it would save them in the long run), cost is going to be prohibitive for many. Which of course can lead to an uncomfortable situation. So making sure all staff are sensitive to this, and more importantly, know how to convey options, is critical. I think also a sliding scale is something that could be considered. The wealthy might add to their sense of wellbeing knowing they are supporting someone who has less. But that is the more beautiful world we are busy building and aren't quite there yet.
👏👏👏👏 I applaud your bravery. It's sadly an unusual trait to see in health/medical practitioners these days- humility.
Much respect to you for staying humble and curious enough to really care about your patients. Ironically what most dont realise is that to put ego aside, and really listen to your patients IS good business practice, and good medicine.
At least it was, before both terms got hijacked by industry and captured regulatory bodies, and "business models" were weaponised against their customers.😉
